Friends’ Spring Fling Book Sale begins May 8

The Friends of T.B. Scott Library present their 2014 Spring Fling Used Book Sale from Thursday, May 8 through Saturday, May 10 in T.B. Scott Free Library’s Community Room.
The sale features items withdrawn from the library’s collection, as well as donations from the general public.  Fiction, nonfiction, teens’ and children’s collections will all be well represented.
New at this year’s sale, shoppers will find it much easier to search for their favorite items, as materials will be organized into categories and genres to provide for a better browsing experience.
The sale opens at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 with a Friends-only preview sale.  Friends will have a first opportunity to select from available materials. Friends of the Library memberships, good for the 2014 calendar year (including preview night of the Friends’ October book sale), can be purchased at the Library at any time, including Thursday night, for $5.
The book sale to the general public begins on Friday, May 9, at 9:30 a.m. and runs to 5 p.m., an hour before the library closes. The sale resumes at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10.  At noon Saturday, the Bag Sale begins. Buy a paper or plastic grocery bag filled with items for only $2. The Bag Sale runs from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, when the book sale ends.
Proceeds from the Spring Fling Book Sale – as with all Friends of T.B. Scott Library events – support library activities and services as diverse as speakers for the Friends’ Annual Meeting, the library’s 3D printer, busing students to Summer Library Program activities, Computer Coaching door prizes, and conference expenses for library staff.
The Friends’ next book sales will be held on Aug. 14 during Merrill’s Crazy Daze celebration, and in October.  For more information about the Friends of T.B. Scott Library, call 536.7191 or visit www.tbscottlibrary.org on the Web.
