The Wellness Center at Gress Chiropractic in Merrill has announced that Dr. Chelsea Prothero has joined their practice as a staff doctor. She will begin seeing patients full time in February.
“Dr. Chelsea is a great addition to the clinic,” stated clinic director, Dr. Kathy Gress. “She brings exceptional experience in chiropractic and wellness to the practice. Merrill is fortunate to have her here and I am glad she chose our practice.”
Dr. Prothero has roots in Wisconsin, having grown up in Waunakee. She is a graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic of Florida. Prior to chiropractic school, she received her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from UW – La Crosse.
“My education, internship, and practicing in Maryland for the past year have certainly given me the opportunity to sharpen and hone in on my clinical skills,” said Dr. Chelsea. “I’ve had the chance to work in both a large clinic near Milwaukee, as well a smaller scale family practice in Maryland. Having experienced both ends of the spectrum has made me truly appreciate the Wellness Center, a family oriented wellness practice in small town,” said Dr. Chelsea.
As a very active young woman, she was drawn to the many opportunities outdoors in and around Merrill. “My first love is chiropractic, of course, but when I’m not working I love to hike, play soccer, and spend time with family,” she said. “I was attracted to the reputation of the Wellness Center first and foremost, and to what Dr. Gress had accomplished. The fact that the clinic is in such a great recreational area is a real plus.”
In addition to her doctorate in chiropractic, Prothero is also certified in the Webster technique for pregnant women. Her focus at the clinic will be on wellness care, but she has keen interest in pregnancy, pediatrics, and whole family wellness care.
“I am looking forward to exploring the area, making new friends, and getting my practice established. I’m planning on becoming involved in the community and helping however I can,” according to Dr. Chelsea. The clinic will be hosting a few community events in the upcoming months for those interested in meeting Dr. Chelsea Prothero.
