Mark Darrell Henning

Mark Darrell Henning, age 71, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Good Samaritan Health Center after a courageous battle with cancer. 
He was born Aug. 17, 1942 in Sheboygan, WI to the late Marvin H. and Loraine Henning. He and Darlene Ertel were united in marriage on April 7, 1978 in Sheboygan, a union lasting over 35 years.
Mark graduated from Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1961 and then went on to serve in the United States Air Force. While doing so, he served in places such as Hawaii, Guam, Japan and Vietnam.
Upon his return in 1965, Mark began his civilian life, which included employment at such places as Kohler Company, Clevepak Corporation and Wal-Mart, where he retired as a Department Manager.
Mark enjoyed the outdoors and was a hunter and fisherman. Mark enjoyed traveling throughout the United States but held an extra special place in his heart for the state of Alaska. He loved to tell stories and show pictures of his adventures there with anyone who would listen.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Henning, Merrill; six sons: Todd Klueger, Carey Henning, Brad Henning, all of Sheboygan, Todd (Laura) Henning, Indianapolis, IN, Cliff Henning, Cleveland, WI, and Brett (Kori) Henning, Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren: Brandon and Connor Henning, Breann and TJ Henning and Braeton Henning; one brother: Jack (Jodel) Henning, Sheboygan Falls, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Darlene Henning and Carol Henning.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 and again Saturday, Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. until the time of service, all at the funeral home.
