Earl H. Krause

Earl H. Krause, age 78, formerly of Merrill, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King. 
Earl was born December 26, 1935, in Merrill, son of the late Carl and Emma (Marnholz) Krause. Earl briefly worked with the Merrill Fire Department. He, along with his late brother law, Roger Olson, owned and operated the former Sinclair Gas Station, located on North Center Avenue, Merrill. Earl retired as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and spending time working on his pickup trucks. Earl served in the United State Marine Corp from February 1953 until his honorable discharge in February of 1957. He attained the rank of sergeant. 
Survivors include two sisters, Ethel ( Vernon) Woller of Merrill, and Edna Heckendorf of Wausau; one brother, Milton (Jeanne) Krause of Merrill; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, Earl is preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle Sturm, Joyce Olson, and Helen Krause, and four brothers, Wilbert, Walter, Arthur, and Elroy Krause. 
The funeral will be at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 27, 2014, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Burial will take place this spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Town of Corning. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
