Library?s Words Worth Hearing schedule set

The Winter-Spring 2014 Words Worth Hearing adult programming series at T.B. Scott Free Library in Merrill has been released.
Admission is free to all library programs.  First Street Coffee Station and The Checkered Churn are community sponsors of Words Worth Hearing.
All programs, unless otherwise indicated, will be held in T.B. Scott Library’s Community Room.
Affordable Care Act One-On-One Help: Get signed up for health insurance at your library, with the help of certified assisters from SRA International!  Thursday, Jan. 30, 1-8 p.m.
The White House In and Out: Merrill’s Dick Bettin shares his passion for the history of one of our democracy’s greatest symbols.  Sunday, Feb. 9, 1 p.m.
Myths & Realities in Wisconsin Courts: Judge Judy, meet the truth! Wednesday, Feb. 12, 3 p.m.
Lincoln’s Legacy and Abe Lincoln Live: Find out why Lincoln was a great president – and then enjoy a live appearance by Abe himself! Wednesday, Feb. 12, 7 p.m.
Ideas Unite, Issues Divide: Richard Kyte, director of the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership at Viterbo University, examines perennial moral conflicts in light of their underlying ideas, in a way everyday people can understand.  Sunday, March 23, 1 p.m.
Play Ball! Wisconsin’s Own Major Leaguers: Author Joe Niese shares his story of major league pitcher and Clear Lake native Burleigh Grimes, and hints at his current project, a biography of former Milwaukee Brave Andy Pafko. Sunday, April 13, 1 p.m.
The Search for Life Beyond Earth: Join internationally-acclaimed astronomer (and Antigo native) Maggie Turnbull and the Friends of the Library for a discussion literally out of this world.  Everyone is welcome to attend for free – but for only $5, you’re welcome to join or renew your Friends membership.  Monday, May 12, 6:30 p.m., Prairie River Middle School Auditorium.
