The Board of Directors of the Merrill Area Food Pantry announces that Tammy Cohrs and Allan Crevier will serve as co-managers of the Food Pantry. The board is composed of representatives from eight area churches and the Holy Cross Sisters. Tammy and Allan will share the role of manager of the pantry, which is open four mornings a week, Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Food Pantry is also supported by more than 50 volunteers from the churches and the community.
Denis McCarthy has assumed the role of manager for the past five years in an exemplary manner. Wishing to devote more time to other ministries, in Jamaica, New Orleans and elsewhere, Denis will be free from managerial responsibilities, although he will continue to volunteer at the pantry. Both managers and volunteers are unpaid. The Community Food Pantry is located in the Community Care Center, 401 W. Main St., Merrill.
