Christ United Methodist Church, Third and Mill streets, Merrill, will host their 12th annual Mission Store from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10 in their Community Room adjacent to the parking lot.
The sale will include crafts and food items from SERRV and Ten Thousand Villages, both clearing houses which work on behalf of artisans in 36 countries. They assist in product design, marketing and business development. Their goal is to enable people in Third World countries to rebuild their lives and forge a long term sustainable life for themselves and their families.
Holiday decorations, home decor, hand carved items, jewelry, scarves, purses, baskets galore, coffee, soups and toys are just some of the items available at reasonable prices. All items are “fair traded.””
Proceeds will be returned to the artisans, thereby providing income, dignity and hope to these struggling people.
