Wisconsin Author Susan Van Sleet recently released her memoir “Mary & Me Beyond the Canvas; An Extraordinary Story of Adoption, Loss & Reunion” and will host a book signing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Johnson Gift Shop Holiday Open House, in Merrill.
Susan’s inspirational memoir “Mary & Me Beyond the Canvas” sheds new light on the shadowy era of closed adoption and validates how a vow of secrecy manifested itself through saturated canvases and poignant poetry. The book was written following the author’s reunion with her 27-year old daughter.
