You can ?Make A Difference? this Saturday

Saturday, Oct. 26, marks the 18th year that Merrill area residents will come together to do yard cleanup for elderly or disabled residents needing help. There are over 60 projects to complete and hundreds of volunteers are needed.
Homeowners that received help last year were contacted by phone to see if they needed raking done again this year. There were a few that were unable to be reached or that did not return calls or register, so it is assumed that help is not needed.

Check-in for workers is from 8:30-8:45 a.m. at Prairie River Middle School, with raking taking place from 9 a.m. until about noon. Lunch is provided for volunteers afterward at the middle school.

Adults with vehicles and students of all ages are needed to make sure projects get finished. Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and rakes.
The weather forecast changes from day to day, but coordinator Linda Becker states that “We’ve never had to cancel an event yet and we’re planning for cool and dry conditions… perfect for yard work.”
