Business owners launch ?Bags for a Cause?

Jen Mattson of To Your Health Market and Heather Phelps of The Fresh Boutique are partnering on a fund raising project for the River Bend Trail.
Starting this week, shoppers can purchase a bag at either The Fresh Boutique and/or To Your Health Market for $15. Each bag will have coupons inside valued at over $150. There will be 100 bags for sale on a first come, first serve basis with 100 percent of the profits going to Friends of the River District. The Friends of the River District is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose purpose is to promote development along Merrill’s river corridors. Their current project includes supporting the construction of the River Bend Trail which will be a paved non-motorized recreational trail that will run 2.5 miles from Center Avenue to Council Grounds State Park along the Wisconsin River. The trail will be a recreational and wellness resource that will open new possibilities for enjoying Merrill’s natural resources. Each person who purchases a bag will automatically become a Friend of the River District Development Foundation of Merrill upon filling out the form that is enclosed in each bag.
The bags are being sold at The Fresh Boutique, 801 E. 1st St., and To Your Health Market, 129 N. Prospect St., both in Merrill. Buy a bag, help the environment by recycling, support local small business, and support Merrill’s new trail all at one time.
