Habitat auction

Habitat for Humanity of Merrill, Inc. announces their Silent Auction and Raffle to be held Labor Day, Sept. 2 starting at noon at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in the Stock Pavilion. The Silent Auction and Raffle will follow the holiday parade. There will be many exclusive items available for you to place silent bids on at the auction. The auction will begin at noon and conclude at 4 p.m.
The board has been canvassing the city of Merrill this summer asking businesses to donate gift certificates or prizes for the Silent Auction. In spite of a struggling economy, businesses have been more than gracious, donating more this year than ever before and auction attendees will have a wide range of gift certificates and quality items from local businesses to choose from.
Merrill Habitat is still seeking donations of any amount. The group will not be holding its Household Auction as they have in the past.
Anyone interested in donating to the auction, volunteering or receiving information about a home, contact Habitat President Dennis Grefe at 715-539-3337, or write P.O. Box 141, Merrill.
Raffle tickets are for sale, at River Valley Bank and Aunt Lu’s Antiques and Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe, Merrill Arewa Chamber of Commerce and at the Stock Building during the festivities on Sept. 2. Tickets are $4 each or 3 for $10. The winning tickets will be drawn at 4 p.m. and the winner need not be present to win. Habitat is grateful for the many donors that make this event possible and to the many community members who attend to support their mission. Merrill Habitat for Humanity will be using the funds raised to build its next home this fall.
Raffle prizes include: A queen size quilt donated by Habitat Quilters (on display at River Valley Bank in Merrill); $500 gift certificate, donated by Miller Home Furnishings; $500 gift certificate, donated by Courtside Furniture; and a 32″ Vizio E Series LED HDTV, donated by Wal-Mart.
