Ruth Ann Vanderkam, 72, of the Town of Pine River, Lincoln County, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at her home.
Ruth Ann was born October 16, 1940, in Virginia, daughter of the late George and Kathrine (Dueterman) Megee. She married Arden ‘Van’ Vanderkam on July 11, 1959, in Arlington, Virginia. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2013. Ruth Ann had worked at K-Mart in Wausau and Drew’s Piggly Wiggly in Merrill. She enjoyed feeding the birds and bird watching. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and trips to the casino.
Survivors include two daughters, Ramona Vanderkam and Jacqueline (Philip) Marheine, both of Merrill; three grandchildren, Leon, Jacob and Thomas; one sister, Judy Ann, of Pennsylvania; and one brother, Doug, of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Vanderkam; her parents, George and Kathrine Megee; and two brothers, George and Jack Megee.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Wayne Drueck will officiate.
