Relay for Life Celebration August 2-3

The American Cancer Society will hold a “Power of Purple Week’ in celebration of its annual Relay For Life event. During the week of July 29 – August 2, area groups, churches and businesses are encouraged to support the Relay For Life of Merrill. This is the community’s opportunity to join the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event as Relay For Life celebrates a world with more birthdays.
Power of Purple Week Schedule of Events
Monday, July 29: Spaghetti dinner at the Eagles Club from 4:30-7:30pm
Tuesday, July 30: Tree of Hope Ceremony, 6pm at Courthouse lawn
Friday, August 2: this year’s Relay For Life of Merrill will be held at Lincoln County Fairgrounds on August 6, starting at 6:00pm. Opening ceremony will take place at 7:00pm on Friday night. Luminaria ceremony will take place at 10:00 pm. Raffle drawing will begin at 9:00am on Saturday, August 3.
Teams of people camp out overnight, walking laps on a track, socializing, and participating in planned activities. Teams can be made up of family, friends, co-workers or community groups.
