American Legion Post 46 catcher Garrett Pagel has been selected to represent the North squad in the 42nd Annual All-Star Game to be held at Miller Park following the Aug. 18 Milwaukee Brewers/Cincinnati Reds game.
“I’m really excited for him,” Merrill manager John Annis said. “He deserves to be there. He works his butt off, game in and game out. To catch 15 innings in 90° weather like he did Friday, I give him a lot of credit.
“He’s caught every inning for us, as he did in the high school season. He never asks to come and he never complains. He’s improved his game a lot.”
Pagel is one of 54 players to be split between two squads.
He also plays for the Merrill Rangers.
