Edna M. Podeweltz, age 92, of Merrill, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Edna was born August 23, 1920, in the Town of Schley, daughter of the late Frank and Hattie (Ahlert) Plamann. She married Leo W. Podeweltz on April 11, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Schley. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1995. She was a retired employee of the former Lincoln Cleaners, Merrill. Edna was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and making dolls for family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Dana) Podeweltz, Merrill, and Lowell Podeweltz, Schofield; a daughter-in-law Candice, of rural Merrill; seventeen grandchildren, Jeff (Susan) Podeweltz, Todd Podeweltz, and Tyler (Dave) Prentice, all of Merrill, Phyllis (Larry) Simon, Merrill, Philip (Chrystal) Podeweltz, Tomahawk, Steve Podeweltz, Merrill, Kim Johnson, Merrill, Kelly (Kristen) Podeweltz, Mosinee, Shelby (Syrina) Podeweltz, Merrill, Nathan Podeweltz, Prentice, Aaron (Katrina) Podeweltz, Wisconsin, Amanda and Jesse Podeweltz, both of Wausau, Tammy (Ron) Block, Wittenberg, Lisa (Randy) Braun, Weston, Kevin Podeweltz, Kronenwetter, Ashley Podeweltz, Weston; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Lorraine Plamann, Merrill. Besides her parents and husband, Edna is preceded in death by her son Earl, two grandsons, Rodney and Jason Podeweltz, and her brother, Edgar Plamann.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday June, 27, 2013, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will follow in Trinity Church Cemetery, Town of Schley, Lincoln County. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
