Heartland new owner of long-time Merrill cooperative

A feed mill and cooperative that has been part of Merrill for decades held a customer appreciation day recently to celebrate new ownership.
On Oct. 1, 2012, Customer One Co-op merged into the Dorchester-based Heartland Cooperative. Among the Customer One locations involved in the merger is the Farm and City Store at 1400 Logan Ave. in Merrill.
With a core business in feed, fuel and agronomy, Merrill’s Heartland Cooperative continues to carry goods to satisfy the needs of both rural and city residents.
The Farm and City Store in Merrill offers everything you need for lawns, gardens, pets and more. Keep your companion pets, horses and small animals healthy with their supply of quality feed and other supplements. They also offer toys and accessories for your pets and small live stock and tack for your horses as well as stable supplies.
In addition you will find a good selection of work apparel including Dickies clothing and Georgia boots, tools for around the home and farm as well as indoor and outdoor decorations. Supplies for canning, as well as beer and wine making, are also offered.
The feed mill continues to serve the livestock feeding needs of the area.
