Fill the Gazebo for local food pantries

The Merrill Ministerium, along with a committee of representatives from several Merrill area churches, has developed a plan which will further meet the needs of local hunger concerns.
The plan: Invite the entire Merrill community to join together in one huge food drive, with all items gathered designated for local needs.
The goal: To collect enough donations of non-perishable foods (canned, boxed and bagged items) and personal items (toothpaste, soap, tissues, etc.) to fill the gazebo at Normal Park. Items collected will be divided between Merrill’s three food pantries and the Food for Kids program.
Participants: Individually by all members of the Merrill area community and collectively through all of the local churches and service organizations. With churches that have regular food pantry programs, this event should be considered as an additional food drive.
The event is planned for Saturday, June 15, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. All donations should be brought to the Normal Park Gazebo on Center Avenue in Merrill on the day of the event. Monetary donations are always welcome and appreciated.
