Tomahawk Chamber host 3rd annual run

The Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 3rd Annual Rockin’ Tomahawk 5k/ Half Marathon on Saturday, June 8.
The Rockin’ Tomahawk course is a professionally timed event that is a fairly flat and fast race suitable for all abilities. Both the 5k and Half Marathon course starts and ends at SARA Park. Along the course you will run through historic downtown Tomahawk as well as the shores of Lake Mohawksin and across the Wisconsin River. Both courses consist of paved roads and wide packed trails, making this race unique and picturesque.
“We are excited about our 3rd Annual Rockin’ Tomahawk,” said Guy Klopatek, Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce’s president. “We have a unique run that features some of Tomahawk’s best attributes, such as Bradley Park, the Hiawatha Trail and SARA Park, we will be featuring music along the course to keep you rockin’ the entire time.”
Again this year, free daycare will be offered for race participants, a free fun run for runners ages 12 and under. Tomahawk Youth Hockey will be hosting a spaghetti dinner Friday night from 4-7p.m.
“We are encouraging everyone to take part in this year’s Rockin’ Tomahawk, if you’re not a runner you can still participate by walking the 5K course,” said Tamra Anderson, Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce executive director. “Registration will be accepted until the day of the race.”
