Help create a healthier Lincoln County

Lincoln County Health Department and Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, along with their community partners, are inviting the community to celebrate and learn more on how Lincoln County can work towards being a healthier county.
In order to celebrate and to share the community health plan with the Lincoln County residents, Healthy People Lincoln County will be hosting “kick off” celebrations at two different locations. The first one will be held Thursday, May 23 at Tomahawk Library, 22 N. 2nd St., Tomahawk, from 5-6 p.m. On Tuesday, May 28, the second one will take place at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, 601 S. Center Ave., Merrill, from 5-6 p.m. in the DeAngelis conference room. Anyone interested in helping to create a healthy community is invited to attend either program. No registration is needed.
“You can be a part of making a difference to the residents of Lincoln County,” said Jane Bentz, Director of the Foundation and Community Outreach at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center. “Collaborating is critical in taking action on making healthy changes to our community and improving the health of all residents.”
“We hope that leaders in our community, business, health care, and every citizen are motivated to work together to achieve a culture of health in our community,” shared Shelley Hersil, Health Officer and Director of Lincoln County Health Department.
In addition to attending the “kick-off”, people can also help by the following ways:
•Share the plan with others
•Have the health plan presented at a meeting, whether it be at a place of employment or an organization
•Volunteer on a committee that supports one of the priorities
•Partner on future community initiatives that promote mental health, healthy lifestyles, nutrition and healthy foods, and oral health.
