Arthur A. Plamann

Arthur A. Plamann, age 87, went to his heavenly home on May 14, 2013.
He was born July 27, 1925, in the town of Schley, son of the late Arthur and Rosa (Ahlert) Plamann. In 1948 he married Maria Merkel. She survives.
Arthur worked for Don Whitburn Motors in Merrill for 12 1/2 years. He was proud that he drove the first car on the Whitburn parking lot. Later, Arthur worked for Seeger’s Dairy, Merrill, as the relief man, taking any route as needed, and working in the plant bottling milk and making ice cream. Arthur then worked at Ward Paper in Merrill for 25 years. Upon retiring he enjoyed driving cars for local dealerships. He especially enjoyed driving for Fred Mueller where he felt a part of their team.
Arthur loved to travel and was proud of the many places he visited. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, visiting Alaska and Hawaii, which he found fascinating. Arthur’s trip to Germany was a trip of a lifetime. Arthur enjoyed fishing and was able to go ice fishing this year with his buddy Fritz. He was a great hunter in his day, loved working in the woods, and also enjoyed making maple syrup. He also enjoyed a game of Sheep Head.
Arthur had been president of Dutch Corners Trinity Lutheran Church until it closed its doors. He lived his life striving to please his Lord in all that he did. He had a very strong faith and thanked the Lord for the many blessings he received. He loved people, especially his family, the greatest blessing of all.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 64 years, Maria Plamann; a son, Gene ( Mary) Plamann; a daughter, Marilyn (Thomas) Danz; four grandchildren, Brian (Stacy) Danz, Ryan (Angela) Plamann, Tricia (Jason) Danz, and Alan (Beth) Plamann; five great grandchildren, Natalie, Caleb, Clara, Sarah, Nathan, and another one on the way in July; two brothers, Harold (Viola) Plamann and Dale (Kathy) Plamann; and a sister in law, Dorothy Plamann.
