UPDATE: Missing person investigation intensifies

In the early evening of Tuesday April 30, the investigation of the disappearance of Anita Bucki intensified. Dozens of law enforcement officers along with a Mobile Crime Lab, executed a search warrant of the home and property of the town of Corning residence of Mark and Anita Bucki, Merrill.
Very few details are being released at this time, but Deputies on the scene Tuesday stated that this is just part of the process of doing a thorough investigation. The search for answers has “intensified” was the term used by a Lincoln County Deputy who was working the area.
Neighbors around the Lincoln County Hwy M and Wegner Road area said they were visited by officers earlier in the day and were asked if they had any information that may be useful in their search. Then later in the afternoon law enforcement vehicles pulled in and set up a full blown investigation lasting into the late night hours of Tuesday. Along with personnel from multiple jurisdictions, on the scene were snow/mud tracked ATV’s, K-9 Units, and multiple types of vehicles, including both marked and un-marked law enforcement. Investigators were seen in the house, garage and walking all around the lawn and adjoining wooded area around the home.
Investigators were back on the scene Wednesday morning. A 40 foot square tarp is visible directly north of the residence in a lightly wooded area about 100 yards from the home. The tarp appears to be set up as a temporary rain shelter to protect some type of evidence that is to be preserved. An officer on the scene was unable to comment but assured us that when more information was available it would be released. At this time, no arrests have been made in the case and the general public is in no danger, according to the Lincoln County Deputy on-site.
