Letters to the Editor, 4-17-13 edition

Dear Editor,
Merrill High’s Graduation Celebration is just around the corner.
Over the years the generous donations of many businesses and individuals have made this party happen. We (and the graduating seniors), are extremely grateful to all of these businesses, organizations and individuals that have donated to our event. Unfortunately, on occasion, we have missed thanking someone (Super 8/Badger Hotel).
All donations are important to this party. To everyone who has ever donated we say “Thank you!”! You are terrific!

Editor,
We would like to take this opportunity to “Thank” Faith Lutheran Church on Hwy. K, for inviting veterans to their special service on Sun., April 7. It was entitled “Honoring all who served.” Veterans received a plaque and all were treated to a chili lunch after the service of patriotic music and prayers.
A big thank you goes out to all involved that made it a memorable day of friendship with friends in Christ. The service was appreciated by the veterans and their families. Thanks again.

Don is a Korean Navy veteran and belongs to WFV Post 1638-Merrill.

Dear Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Town of Scott for their support on April 2nd. I will continue to provide my experience and dedication to the residents to improve the quality of our Township.
Thank you,

Editor,
What a beautiful musical concert held at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill on Saturday evening, April 6. A group of ladies from the Madison area called the Unkalung Choir had these unique musical instruments and their beautiful and enthusiastic voices to blend together to make for an unforgettable concert for all in attendance. The various songs and selections were all so wonderful; it was hard to pick a favorite!
A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Betty Mansfield, the leader of the group and to each one of these ladies who really put their hearts into their music. Their love for the Lord was so evident in all their music. What a blessing!
Thanks also to Joan and Roy Lange for all their work on getting this choir to come and perform at our church. Hopefully it can be an annual event.
Also thanks goes out to Helene and Jack Ader for hosting a luncheon at their home following the concert for these fellow Christians. It just so happens that Helene and Betty were college friends (roommates).
We’re sure everyone in attendance would agree–it was awesome music and would come to hear and see them perform again. Thanks and God’s love to all.
St. John Evangelism Board: Merle Mewing, Barb Hintze, Jenni Pehlke, Nancy Meier, Arlene Smith
