Albert Krause, Sr.

Albert Krause, Sr., 82, of the Town of Texas, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his family.
Albert was born February 18, 1931, in Merrill, to the late Albert and Alice (Weber) Krause. On April 23, 1949, he married Joan Josiger. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and was a jack of many trades, but retired from the Marathon County Highway Department in the spring of 1995. He enjoyed camping, fishing, polka dancing, working at the ‘Hodag’, and spending time with his big family.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Krause; 11 children, Cathy Gantner (Steve), Albert, Jr. (Diane), Ricky (Linda), Mary Hess, Tina Drake (Archie), Cindy Sickinger (Mike), Shawn (Lorrie), Brian (Lori), Kim Baumann (Todd), Lisa Schmidt (Kevin), Shad (Sarah); 38 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lois, Alice, and Judy; 1 sister-in-law, Carol. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Vicky; and 2 brothers, Warren and Roger.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Terry Kelb will officiate. Burial will take place in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, with graveside military rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1638, Merrill. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Albert was beloved by all and will be missed dearly.
