Ida E. Joerndt

Ida E. Joerndt, of the town of Vilas, died on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill. She was 91 years old.
She was born on April 28, 1921 in the town of Pine River, Lincoln County a daughter of Paul and Julia Kunke. She married John Joerndt on September 9, 1944 in the town of Pine River. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1994.
Mrs. Joerndt and her husband dairy farmed in the town of Vilas. In 1996 she moved to Pine Crest Nursing Home.
She was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Gleason and the Good Luck Homemakers Club in the town of Vilas.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and deer hunting.
Survivors include a son, David (Mae) Joerndt, Appleton; a daughter, Jean Pankratz, Antigo; five grandchildren, Sandra (Scott) Meyer, Menasha, Teresa (Steve) Van Herwynen, Appleton, Michael (Mindy) Joerndt, Appleton, Melissa (Chris) Ziemer, Green Bay, and Amy Pankratz, Shawano; and six great-grandchildren, Ruth (Kevin) Arhelger, Minn., Nikki Van Herwynen, Appleton, Jacob and Josie Seay, Shawano, Libby and Michelle Ziemer, Green Bay.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Clarence Pankratz; four sisters and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 12 p.m. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason with Rev. Greg Laska officiating. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Forestview Cemetery in Gleason.
A prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill with Visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
