Merrill girls? basketball team donates to cancer fund

The Merrill High School girls’ basketball team donated more than $1,000 to the Marshfield Clinic cancer care patient fund after a fundraiser during a recent basketball game.
The money was raised through the sale of a special t-shirt, along with a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. The girls wore special pink jerseys which were donated by the Clinic. They plan on making the fundraiser for the cancer care patient fund an annual event.
“We appreciate the girls taking an interest in our program,” said Ann Lucas, East District Development Officer. “After they learned about our cancer care patient fund, they jumped at the chance to help us out.”
