Kleinschmidt named Youth Optimist of the Month
The Merrill Noon Optimist has chosen Reid Kleinschmidt as Youth Optimist of the Month for February. Reid was nominated by Mr. Greg Eichelkraut and Mrs. Janet Wardall.
Mr. Eichelkraut states that he’s “known Reid since his freshman year and he has always maintained a positive attitude about his business and has a terrific rapport with the teaching staff and administration. This has led to his leadership on the hockey team and one of the student representatives on the school board. Reid has a ‘can-do’ attitude making him a welcome member of any organization to which he belongs whether it is a work group in class or athletic team. Reid is not afraid of challenges as shown by his class selections.”
Mrs. Wardall comments that “Reid is a very positive young man who is always willing to help and provide service for others. He also continually encourages others to become more involved. No matter what the task is or who it’s for, Reid is always the first person to step up and complete the task in a diligent timely manner. He is a hard worker who always puts 100% effort into everything he does.”
Reid currently has a rank of 1 of 266 and has a GPA of 4.0. He has completed such courses as: Biology Honors, Algebra 2 Honors, AP Statistics/Pre-Calculus, Chemistry Honors and AP Calculus.
He is a Student School Board Representative and participates in National Honor Society, Link Crew, Octagon Club, Homecoming and Winterfest Activities/Games.
