Kenneth A. Wagner

Kenneth A. Wagner, 84, of Tomahawk, formerly of Merrill, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at Golden Age Nursing Home, Tomahawk.
He was born June 27, 1928 in Milwaukee to the late Alfred & Evelyn (Gifford) Wagner. His wife, Vera, preceded him in death in 2003. He then married Mildred (Woller) Burnett June 24, 2005 in Tomahawk. She survives.
Kenneth attended school in Milwaukee. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Korea as a gunner during the Korean War. After the war Ken worked various jobs in Milwaukee where he worked in the printing industry. He had also taught electroplating to printing students. After retirement Ken became an advisor in the printing industry. While in Milwaukee he was very active in Barber Shop Quartets and sang in church. Ken moved to the Merrill/Tomahawk area in 2004. He was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tomahawk and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. Ken was a member of the Friends of the Tomahawk Airport of which he served as President. Ken was a life-time member of the Milwaukee VFW. Ken enjoyed playing the banjo, singing, drawing, woodworking, trap shooting, hunting and flying airplanes.
Survivors include his wife: Mildred Wagner, Merrill; two daughters: Kathleen Wagner, Milwaukee, and Susan (Steve) Butler, Eagle, WI; three sons: Michael Wagner, Milwaukee, David (Diane) Wagner, Illinois, and Jeffrey Wagner, Milwaukee; two step-daughters: Sandra (Scott) Harkness, Tomahawk, and Kristine (Asan) Adiloski, Merrill; three step-sons: Gerald (Shelly) Burnett, Joseph (Tammy) Burnett and James (Tamara) Burnett, all of Merrill; six grandchildren; 26 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Glenn (Karen) Wagner, Tomahawk, Dennis (Betty) Wagner, Powell, WY, and Dale (Judy) Wagner, Tomahawk; and one sister: Marilyn Cole, Powell, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vera, brother, Darrel, one step-grandson, Daniel Adiloski, one niece, Dawn Marie Cole, and one nephew, Alfred Wagner.
A Memorial Service for Ken will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Waid Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Missy Holdorf will officiate.
