Roger W. Strozewski, 86, of Merrill, died Friday, December 21, 2012, at Pine Crest Nursing Home.

Roger W. Strozewski, 86, of Merrill, died Friday, December 21, 2012, at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Roger was born July 28, 1926, in Mather, Wisconsin, son of the late George and Jessie (Ogle) Strozewski. He married Iris Nordman on November 6, 1948, in Wisconsin Rapids. She survives. Roger had worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Merrill, for 33 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and playing cards. Roger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. He was a life member of the Merrill V.F.W. Post 1638. Roger had served in the U.S. Army from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1948, and was stationed in the Philippine Islands.
Survivors include his wife, Iris Strozewski, Merrill; two sons, Glenn Strozewski, Sr., Plover, and Gary (Renee) Strozewski, Lavine, Arizona; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Roger is preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Visitation will begin at 8:30 A.M. Thursday at the church. Entombment will be in Merrill Memorial Park Mausoleum, with graveside military rites conducted by the Merrill V.F. W. Post 1638 Honor Guard.
