George T. Rockwell
George T. Rockwell, of Wausau, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living, Weston.
George was born June 26, 1930, son of the late George C. and Gertrude (Shaw) Rockwell. He married Anna M. Pleier on April 21, 1985, in Walla Walla, WA. Anna preceded him in death on December 14, 2004. George enlisted in the United States Army in 1951. He was honorably discharged in 1953 after serving in Korea for 1 1/2 years as a driver with the Medical Corp. George was a Watkins sales representative. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Merrill.
Survivors include four daughters, Verna Rockwell, of Lucerne Valley, CA, Linda Rockwell, of Naples, FL, Rachel Farley, of Shasta Lake, CA, and Vivian (Gary) Nasiatka, of Niantic, CT; four sons, Roy Rockwell, of Licking, MO, James Rockwell, of Bloomington, CA, Larry (Debbie) Rockwell, of Redding, CA, and Henry Rockwell, of Fields Landing, CA; four step daughters, Mary Brown, of Moorhead, MN, Kathy (Richard) Schmerler, of Wausau, Linda (Virgil) Heinrich, of Tolstoy, SD, and Nancy (Dan) Barcroft, of Burbank, WA; three step sons, Ken (Julie Stoltz) Ruether, of Schofield, Harold Ruether, of Spokane, WA, and Roger Ruether, of Lawrence, MI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; one sister, Deloris Paddock, of Portland, OR; four half-sisters, Lilly Gutierriez, of Madison, WI, Bessie Kmiecik, of Warrens, WI, Rose Neal, of Loveland, CO, and Minnie Bork, of Tulsa, OK; and one half-brother, Roger (Mary) Rockwell, of Coupeville, WA. George was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Rockwell; one step-son, Phillip Ruether; one sister, Betty White; one half-sister, Helen Rockwell; and one half-brother, Mark Rockwell.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Rowell Puedivan will officiate. Burial will take place at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M., Noon, Wednesday at the funeral home.
