Frank Gryskiewicz, 90, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center under Hospice Care.
He was born August 20, 1922 in the town of Pine River to the late Stanley & Lucy (Pratek) Gryskiewicz. On June 9, 1945 he married Dorothy Gretenhardt in Merrill. She preceded him in death September 14, 2010.
Frank and his wife, Dorothy, farmed in the town of Schley where he also did logging. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Frank liked to play cards and was a member of the Happy Couples Club for over 50 years. Frank was an avid outdoorsman, especially fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed making maple syrup in the spring. Frank was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Frank was also a great story teller.
Survivors include his three sons: Peter (Diane) Gryskiewicz, The Villages, FL, John Gryskiewicz & David (Mary) Gryskiewicz, all of Merrill; daughter: Mary Beth (Doug) Grisa, Merrill; eight grandchildren: Michele, Robin (Fiance, Bernard), Heather (Troy) Brownell, Amanda, Zachary (Fiance, Raena), Joshua, Julie and Dan; great-granddaughter: Iva; sister: Agnes Gryskiewicz, Tampa, FL; and brother: Eugene Gryskiewicz, Merrill. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy, and several brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:30 PM Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Francis Xavier Church. Father Joseph Kleinheinz will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 PM at Waid Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Merrill Memorial Park. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
