Beatrice Mohrland

Beatrice Mohrland, age 88, of Merrill, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, surrounded by her family.
She was born Feb. 12, 1924 in Marathon the daughter of the late William and Susie (Hannigan) Barthels. She married Roy Thomas. Beatrice later married George Mohrland on Dec. 20, 1958 at St. Paul’s Church in Pine River. He preceded her in death April 11, 2009.
Beatrice and George dairy farmed in the Town of Corning. Throughout the years she also worked at a battery factory and cleaners, then finally at a bakery where she worked until her retirement. Beatrice loved all animals, especially cats and enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking pies. She was a member of Copper River Midnight Riders Snowmobile Club and Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Berlin.
Survivors include her three daughters: Karen (Rick) Leopold of Marathon, Audrey Jones of Wausau, and Judy (Jerome) Bonke of Merrill; son: Douglas (Hollie) Thomas of Merrill, 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George, son, Kenneth Thomas, infant daughter, Virginia, two brothers, Elmer & Dale Barthels.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Berlin. The Rev. Jeffrey Schmidt will officiate. Burial will take place at Snow Hill Cemetery in the town of Scott. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Donations may be made to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Berlin.
