Hatchets swim past Hodags

The Hatchet swim team cruised to a 109-51 triumph at Rhinelander last Thursday, capturing first place in every event but one, sweeping 2 events and ranking at least 1-2 in 6 of 11 events.
“It was a great win,” coach Theresa L’Esperance said.
THS swept the 100 back with Katherine Russell (1:12.34), Kelsey Maki (1:14.07) and Madeline McPherson (1:15.42) and the 200 free with Karli Cecil (2:18.02), Mikhayla Kleich (2:20.29) and Baylee Dallman (2:20.33). The girls placed 1-2 in the: 100 free with Morgan Weber (1:01.01) and Hannah Schmit (1:03.10); the 100 brea with Galganski (1:20.36) and Weber (1:22.67); the 200 medley relay (Russell, Weber, Maki, Schmit, 2:04.69/ McPherson, Galganski, Taylor Hansen, Mary Galloy, a new ‘B’ record 2:08.79); and the 200 free relay (Galganski, Schmit, Dallman, Weber, 1:52.05/Sami Kleich, Hansen, M. Kleich, Cecil, 1:54.16).
Other wins came from: Galganski (50 free :28.31); S. Kleich (100 fly, 1:14.39); Cecil (500 free, 6:13.75); and the 400 free team (Cecil, S. Kleich, Dallman, Russell, 4:18.01).
Russell was a 200 IM runner-up (2:38.18), and additional thirds came from Schmit (50 free, :29.27), Hansen (100 fly, 1:16.82), and the 400 free team (M. Kleich, Hansen, Galloy, Maki, 4:28.02).
The 200 free team of Nicole Nerva, Emily Zurfluh, Sarah Bartz and Heidi Massa set a new ‘C’ record of 2:01.41.
