Marian R. Wegener

Marian R. Wegener, age 69, of the town of Pine River, Lincoln County, died Monday, August 27, 2012, at her home, under the care of her family and hospice services.
Marian was born May 11, 1943, in Jamestown, North Dakota, daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy (Devine) Davis. She married Paul H. Wegener on June 14, 1964, in Pingree, North Dakota. He survives. Marian earned her Bachelor’s Degree and for three years taught English at the junior high school level. Later she became a homemaker. Marian enjoyed reading, shopping, sewing, and her beloved pets. She volunteered as a teacher’s aid at Pine River Elementary School, and also taught both confirmation classes and Sunday School at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Merrill.
Survivors include her husband, Paul H. Wegener, Merrill; two daughters, Leah (Matthew) Burbach, Merrill, and Sarah (Timothy) Lilly, Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Jacob Burbach and Cecilia Lilly; two sisters, Gayle Davies, San Francisco, California, and Carol (Henry) Kaminski, El Granada, California; three brothers, Harvey (Rosemarie) Davis, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, R. Morgan (Sharon) Davis, Glenfield, North Dakota, and Craig Davis, Grand Forks, North Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marian is preceded in death by one brother, Rodney Davis.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Maurice Schaus will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.
The Wegener Family has suggested that memorials be given to Our Saviours Lutheran Church Youth Programs or the Lincoln County Humane Society.
