Vernon ?Vern? Harold Kasper

Vernon “Vern” Harold Kasper, age 82, of Merrill, died peacefully Aug. 19, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loving family, and under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Vern was born May 12, 1930 in Chili, WI, the son of the late Harvey and Lavone (Pleus) Kasper. Vern and Darlene Gotter were united in marriage Feb. 2, 1952 in Loyal, WI, a 60 year union.
Vern and Darlene had owned Kasper Office Supply for 14 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and playing cards. Vern had been a member of the Lions Club, the Musicians Union, and the “Vern Kasper Orchestra,” he also played for the Wayne Seefeldt Orchestra for many years, he truly enjoyed music.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene, Merrill; 4 children, Deborah (Peter) Baumgardt, Wausau, Terry (Nancy) Kasper, Merrill, Gary (Kathy) Kasper, Merrill, Sharon (Daniel) Dimmer, Green Bay; brother Norman (Carol) Kasper, Spencer; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren also survive.
Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Waid Funeral Home, Sister John Marie will officiate. Visitation will be 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Merrill Memorial Park.
