Dorothy S. Drew, 91, of Merrill, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Dorothy was born July 7, 1921, in Merrill, daughter of the late Henry and Elsie (Neumann) Litke. She married Gordon Hahn on October 24, 1943, in Merrill, and he preceded her in death in 1960. She then married Harold W. Sandmann on June 24, 1961, in Merrill, and he preceded her in death in April of 1984. On December 9, 1995, Dorothy married Wilmer Drew. He preceded her in death in March of 2005. Dorothy had been employed at the Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Merrill, and at the time of her retirement she was employed with Wire Products Manufacturing of Merrill. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, pontoon boat rides, gardening, family reunions, watching humming birds, and visiting with family and friends. Dorothy was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs. Dorothy and her late husband Wilmer enjoyed being winter ‘snowbirds’ in Florida and Arizona.
Survivors include her sister, Betty (Mrs. Ted) Baumann of Merrill; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her siblings, Harold ‘Bud” and Robert Litke, Henrietta Schroeder, and Glorian Klempke.
The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 9, 2012, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Father Ronald Serrao will preside. Burial will take place in Chat Cemetery, town of Birch. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
