Round-up and head on over to Brecke Rodeo Arena, 5 miles west of Medford on Hwy 64 for the Fifth Annual North Central WI Cattlemen’s Association, Inc July Beef Round-up on Saturday, July 21. The day begins at 8 a.m. with the viewing of our Seedstock Sale Consignments and a Beef Judging Contest. Wonderful ribeye sandwiches and half-pound burgers will start coming off the grill beginning at 10 a.m. The Seedstock Sale begins at noon. This is your chance to purchase quality cows, heifers, cow-calf pairs and bulls for your herd. Both commercial and registered stock will be offered for sale by the members of NCWCA. Many breeds are available. The Seedstock Sale Catalog will be available soon on our website, ncwcattlemen.com. There will also be beef cattle breeds on display, door prizes, silent auction and new this year: Taylor County Farm Bureau will be on hand dishing up much appreciated ice cream! Don’t wait too long to head out, as the event will conclude around 2 p.m.
The Beef Judging Contest begins at 8 am, with registartion starting at 7:15 am. Area youth are encouraged to learn and practice their beef judging skills. Adults can give it a try, too! There is no fee to enter our contest, but RSVP with the number attending is appreciated by calling the Taylor County UW- Extension office at 715-748-3327. Trophies will be awarded.
Members of NCWCA are encouraged to contact Todd Andreshak at 715-352-2400 if you have cattle you’d like to display. Its great to see and learn about the variety of cattle being raised in Wisconsin. If you are not a member, but would like to display your cattle, give Todd a call.
The Beef Round-up is NCWCA’s event to promote our beef industry. While here, we network, socialize, learn, conduct business and have fun. Profits raised during the day further the organization’s programming. This programming includes our website, newsletters, educational events, Breeding Soundness Clinic, and hopefully soon our ability to offer a youth scholarship.
