Ronald S. Kunke, age 70, of Tomahawk, died December 7, 2011, in Mazatlan, Mexico.
Ron was born April 22, 1941, son of the late Walter and Louise Kunke. He was a retired crane operator with Operating Engineers, Local 139. Ron’s hobbies included deer hunting, sport fishing in Mazatlan, and collecting antique tractors. Ron served his country in the military/active duty from June, 1959 until his honorable discharge March, 1961. Prior to active duty, Ron had served in the reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Kunke, Tomahawk; (2) sons, Ronald Scott Kunke, Burlington, Wisconsin, and Michael (Tracy) Kunke, Muskego, Wisconsin; (3) grandchildren, Kimberly, Melissa, and Lindsey; and (1) sister, Geraldine (Frank) Wolter, Jackson, Wisconsin. Ron is preceded in death by (1) sister, Paulette Bell.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. Burial of Ron’s cremated remains will take place at a later date in Springbrook Cemetery, Town of Pine River, Lincoln County. The Kunke Family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 25th.
