Grant G. Goehe

Grant G. Goehe, age 90, of Tomahawk, formerly of rural Gleason, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk.
Grant was born July 20, 1921, at home in the town of Harrison, Lincoln County, son of the late Herman Otto and Jenny (Roesler) Goehe. He was a self-employed logger, working with his brother Alfred, for many years. He then became a contract skidder, first with Owens-Illinois in Tomahawk, the finally with Ort Lumber. Grant finally retired and sold his equipment when he was in his early 80’s. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; bowling in his earlier years; playing softball in the church league; the Packers and the Badgers.
Survivors include his brother, Alfred Goehe, Tomahawk; and (5) nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Louise, Carl, and Herman Goehe. The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tomahawk. The Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. Spring burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:30 A.M. Saturday at the church.
