THS rallies at Rhinelander

The Hatchets dropped a tough 5-4 game to Chequamegon last Tuesday and a 4-1 loss to Marshfield on Thursday, but rebounded with a 7-4 victory at Rhinelander on Saturday.
Luke Schoone (A-Kenny Kangas) made it 1-1 in the 1st of Tuesday’s game. Trevor Iwen (A-Colton Kammer, A.J. Bunce) kept THS within 3-2 in the 2nd, and Schoone (A-Chris Parker, Bunce) and Sam Heim (UA) netted pucks in the 3rd.
“It was a disappointing loss, but a great eye-opener for the team,” THS coach Jake Flohr said.
Hodag highlight reel
Tomahawk ripped off 4 straight in the 2nd period for a 5-2 lead on Saturday. Twice the Hodags responded, but both times the Hatchets answered.
Kangas finished with 3 goals and Bunce (2 g, 1 a), Iwen (1 g, 1 a), Schoone (2 a), Heim (1 g), Kammer (1 a) contributed.
Ole Hanson and Rhinelander’s Jacob Arno each had 25 saves.
Tiger pounce
The Hatchets also hosted Marshfield for a 4-1 loss on Thursday. All the goals were scored in the second period.
“I don’t like losing, but they came together against Marshfield and played well,” Flohr said.
