MAPS Board elects new member, selects officers

At its special board meeting Wednesday evening, the Merrill Area Public School Board elected a new board member and several new officers. The board vacancy was created when former board president, Keith Schmelling, announced in late August his intention to resign from the board.
As per its policy, the board solicited nominations from community members for the open seat. After interviews and consideration, the board elected Eugene Bondioli as the new board member on a majority vote. With seven members voting, Bondioli received four votes, Renee Krueger received two votes and John Shull, Jr. received one vote.
The board voted William Jaeger, who had served as the board’s vice president, as its new president. The board also elected Lin Kautza as its new vice president and Brad Geiss as its new treasurer. Jen Seliger remains board clerk.
Bondioli’s term will end April 2012.
