Anna Mae Anderson

Anna Mae Anderson, age 91, of Merrill, died Thursday, September 1, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Anna Mae was born May 31, 1920, in Groos, Michigan, daughter of the late Christopher and Agnes (LeDuc) Thompson. She married Donald G. Anderson on December 30, 1944, in Escanaba, Michigan. He survives. Anna Mae was a homemaker, helping raise her nine children. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Anna Mae also enjoyed golfing, and has a “hole in one” along with several golf trophies. She also enjoyed bowling and swimming. She was an avid Green Bay Packer, Wisconsin Badger, and Merrill Bluejay fan. Anna Mae had been active with the Altar Guild and also assisted with funeral luncheons at the former St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Merrill.
Survivors include her husband, Donald G. Anderson, Merrill; five daughters, Victoria Anderson, Marshfield, Barbara (Gary) Emerich, Merrill, Susan (Bill) Soper, Marshfield, Donna (Scott) Specht, Merrill, and Mary (Rick) Griep, Marshfield; four sons, Marty (Sharon) Anderson, Merrill, Steve (Char) Anderson, Ely, Iowa, and Warren (Julia) Anderson and Paul (Jan) Anderson, both of Merrill; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 3 step great grandchildren. Anna Mae is preceded in death by her sister Irene, and her brother Kenneth.
The Anderson Family with visit with relatives and friends from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Merrill.
