Floyd A. Albright

Floyd A. Albright, 90, Merrill, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
He was born on May 22, 1921, in Beaver Dam, WI, son of the late Fred and Evelyn (Schroeder) Albright. He married Lottie Klante in Milwaukee, who died in 1956. He then married Joyce Holt on June 20, 1958, in Milwaukee. She survives and resides at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Floyd was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII and The European African Middle Eastern Theater. He was awarded a purple heart, 4 bronze stars, 2 overseas bars, good conduct medal, a combat infantry badge and a marksmen shooting medal. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 537, Milwaukee. For many years he was a plumber and owned his own business for five eyars before retiring.
Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and being a great jokester, also enjoying watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He managed many men’s softball teams in the Milwaukee and Gleason area.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Albright, Merrill; children, daughter Jean (John) Semancik, Milwaukee, son Gary (Vicky) Albright, Merrill, son Floyd (Darlene) Albright, Gleason, daughter Susan (Thomas) Rausch, Waterford, WI, daughter Patricia Albright, Tomahawk, son Roy (Cheri) Albright, Merrill; brother Lester (Dalphine) Albright, Milwaukee; son-in-law Roger Erickson; 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Leonard, Fred, Arthur Albright, sister Grace (Albright) Gunther and half-brother Robert Stich, all of Milwaukee; and step daughter Sue Erickson.
