Fernande (Madeline) Fenney

Fernande (Madeline) Fenney, 83, Merrill, died June 8, 2011, in her home.
Fernande was a retired CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), having worked many years at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill. Prior to coming to this country, Fernande was a registered nurse at Pitie-Salpretrier Hospital in Paris, France. Fernande loved to travel and saw a great deal of the US over her life, she also loved to put jig saw puzzles together, spending time with family, an occasional trip to the casino’s and wine making.
Born in Meautis, Normandie, France on Oct. 17, 1927, to her parents Jules & Marie Louise (Chardinne) Cardin, she was the oldest of 8 children. After arriving in the US in December 1951, she and her family made their way to Chicago, IL. It was here that she met and married her current husband Vernon Fenney, they married on July 26, 1958, also in Chicago, IL. Together they raised their loving family of three children, one of their own and two from her previous marriage.
She is survived by husband, Vernon Fenney, Merrill; son, Michael Cwiklik, Chicago; daughter, Sylvie (Dennis) Wrzesinski, daughter, Doreen (Alan) Fenney-Renken; brothers, Marcel Cardin, Paris, France; sisters, Maria (Louis) Decorps, Carentan, France; Yvette Enault, Cherbough, France; Jacqueline (Bernard) Montigny, Carentan, France; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Jules & Marie Louise (Chardinne) Cardin; brothers, Desire Cardin and Auguste Cardin.
“A Memorial Gathering will be held at the home of Vernon & Fernande Fenney on June 18, from 3-7 p.m. Please contact the family for further information at 715-539-3036. If you plan to attend the gathering please recall a special memory of our mother so that we can record it for future generations to remember. “She made it home.”
Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family.
