Susan Lee Gallup, 66, Merrill, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill. She was born Feb. 19, 1944 in Merrill to the late Harold & Minnie (Mittelsteadt) Zimmerman.
Sue attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School in Merrill and was a 1962 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. She co-owned Champs Restaurant in Merrill for 4 years, working as a waitress there for 21 years. Sue then worked at Dave’s County Market in Merrill until retiring in October of 2009. She attended Highland Community Church in Wausau. Sue enjoyed collecting snowmen and was an avid pet lover, especially cats. She was a loyal Packer fan and truly loved being around people.
Survivors include her husband Gregory Gallup, Merrill; step-son Todd (Jolene) Gallup, Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Ariel Gallup and Todd Gallup Jr.; brothers, Patrick (Kathy) Zimmerman, Merrill, and David (Susie) Gallup, Massachusetts; nephews, Tim (Brenda) Zimmerman and Rod (Michelle) Zimmerman, all of Rothschild; and niece Chris (Matt) Eder, Rothschild. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-daughter, Kristi Gallup.
Services were Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at Waid Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Rod Zimmerman officiated.
The family requests memorials be given to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
