Robert ?Bob? Knippel

Robert “Bob” Knippel, 69, Merrill, passed away Jan. 2, 2011 at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
He was born May 6, 1941 in Milwaukee to the late Albert & Jean Knippel. Bob married Barbara Phillips Feb. 13, 1971 in Milwaukee.
Bob was employed with Evinrude Outboard Marine Corporation in Milwaukee working in their factory for 20 years. Then he and Barbara moved to Montana where he worked at Shopko. In April of 2008, Bob’s final move brought him to Merrill to get to know his grandkids better and to be closer to family. He enjoyed many things including hunting, fishing, camping, being outdoors, and spending time with his animals. Bob enjoyed joking and teasing others and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. Bob was a member of Hillside Fellowship Merrill and Last Chance Chapel, Montana.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, Merrill; son Rob (Kari) Knippel, West Allis; grandchildren, Kevin & Kayla Knippel; brother Gerald (Lois) Knippel, Sarasota, FL, and Dennis Knippel, Milwaukee; many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and his church family at Hillside Fellowship, Merrill, and Last Chance Chapel in Helena, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Hillside Fellowship, Merrill. The Rev. Allen Worlin will officiate. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at Last Chance Chapel, Helena, MT. The Rev. John Cathcart will officiate. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Aspirus Regional Cancer Center in Wausau or Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
