Keith E. Engelking

Keith E. Engelking, 52, of Elkhart, Iowa, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at his sister’s home in Merrill. Keith was courageously battling cancer, and had returned to Merrill to say goodbye to his mother and other family members.
He was born April 7, 1958, in Sheboygan, son of the late Rev. Edgar R. Engelking and Veles (Bigelow) Engelking, Merrill. Prior to his illness, Keith had been the owner/operator of KEE Remodeling in Elkhart. Keith graduated from Merrill Senior High School in 1976. As an adult he enjoyed scuba diving in both the Caribbean and South Pacific. Keith was a certified diver, instructor, and scuba guide. He also enjoyed hot air ballooning, four wheeling, hunting, river rafting, and spending time with his grandson.
Survivors include his mother, Veles Engelking, Merrill; daughter, Jennifer Kramer of West Des Moines, Iowa; son, Jeremiah Kramer of Elkhart, Iowa; grandson, Austin; sisters, Janelle Engelking, Merrill, and Karmelle (Charles) Gross, Gleason; brothers, Craig (Barbara) Engelking, Algoma, Scott (Carol) Engelking, Green Bay, and Bill (Sherri) Engelking, Hertford, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Keith will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
