James A. Doering

James A. Doering, age 74, of Gleason (Town of Schley, Lincoln County), died Friday, September 10, 2010, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
He was born May 27, 1936 in the “Doering” area of the Town of Schley, son of the late Clarence and Bertha (Hinz) Doering. He married Diane R. Bessey on July 18, 1960. She survives. Jim was a self employed logger and he owned and operated Doering Logging. Jim was a self taught drummer and he played with several area bands for 50 years. He enjoyed traveling with the bands, and also enjoyed working in the woods. Jim served in the National Guard and was called to active duty during the “Berlin Crisis”.
He is survived by his wife Diane R. Doering, Gleason; two daughters, Laurie (Michael) Yarie, Gleason, and Jill (Bruce) Cohrs, Merrill; one son, David (Debra) Doering, Gleason; seven grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, Jason, Molly, Brandon, Travis, and Nicole; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Justin; four sisters, Audrey (Frank, Jr.) Bloechl, Gleason, Marion (Delos) Kohnhorst, Athens, Joyce (Lavern) Olson, Tigerton, and Patty (Allen) Geiss, Eau Claire; and three brothers, Donald (Linda) Doering, Appleton, Marvin (Mary) Doering, St. Germain, and Robert (special friend Carol) Doering, Warminster, Pennsylvania. Jim is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joshua and Amber Fourcade.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason. The Rev. Steven Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Doering Cemetery, Town of Schley. The visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at the church.
