Student of the Month recognition has been given each month in the second semester of this school year at Prairie River Middle School. Students receiving this recognition are nominated by their team of teachers or any other staff member in the building. To qualify, students demonstrate the qualities of the school’s mission statement: excelling in areas of academic performance or citizenship. Students are presented their recognition during a lunch period and given a Student of the Month recognition form, a Jaybird, a Student of the Month pin, and a treat. Their individual pictures are taken and are posted, along with their teacher write-up on a bulletin board outside of the cafeteria for a month for all to see.
