A quarter of the city’s downtown riverfront property is up for grabs.
Last week, City Administrator Kent Hager sent out Request For Proposal (RFP) packets to 186 developers in Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota. The RFPs were sent under the direction of the Economic Development Committee.
The developable six-acre site is assessable to the Wolf River between the Pearl and Shawano Street Bridges and is currently zoned B-2, in a highway commercial district.
According to Hager, the city will retain a forty-foot wide segment of land along the full length of the property where the new trail and dock system is in place, along the river’s floodway.
Hager said the deadline for proposals is Sept. 28. The RFP packet inforamtion can be found at www.newlondonwi.org/rfp.htm.
